Chapter 1192 Summary
Short Summary:
Imu recovers from a combined attack by Luffy, Loki, and Hajrudin and continues the battle with the former two. As Luffy struggled against Imu's Tohu wa-Bohu shield, Gaban once again orders Hajrudin to take Luffy and escape. However, he was interrupted by Usopp, who urges him to have faith in his captain. Just after that, Luffy and Loki performs Gomu Gomu no Dawn Thor Bullet combined attack and pierce Imu's Tohu wa-Bohu.
Detailed Summary
Luffy, Loki, and Hajrudin's combined attack blasts Imu into the tree trunk, though after tumbling a bit, he manages to regain his footing. However, Loki jumps into the air and tries to hit him with Ragnir, but Imu dodges his swings with ease. Luffy jumps into the air as well and and unleashes a new attack called Gomu Gomu no Dawn Kraken Gatling, firing his stretchy arms as if they were tentacles, just as Imu fires a volley of Omen. Luffy redirects his punches to keep most of the Omen out of his way while he still has enough aimed at Imu. Unfortunately, Imu successfully blocks Luffy's attack and calls him too slow. In turn, Imu summons both another sword called Tohu along with Bohu to perform a move called Tohu wa-Bohu, creating a massive shield made of Omen to block the rest of Luffy's assault, and which proves harder than Luffy's Haki-coated fists. Imu then jumps above Luffy with both swords and swings them down at Luffy, blasting him into the ground.
While watching, Gaban once again orders Hajrudin to take Luffy and escape, believing he cannot beat Imu with his injuries, and that he does not have a good reason to defend the country, but Usopp, who was on Hajrudin's shoulder, retorts that Luffy does indeed have one, revealing to Gaban that back at Little Garden, Dorry and Brogy helped their crew leave the island, how Oimo and Kashii aided them in rescuing Robin at Enies Lobby, and that he considers Hajrudin and his crew his henchmen (to an extent) after they fought together in Dressrosa, so he sees no reason for them to abandon their comrades after everything they have done for them.
Gaban begins to tell Usopp that Luffy's awakened form resembles that of the god the giants worship, which carries great importance, but Usopp yells he does not care, saying that while people keep comparing him to Joy Boy, Nika, or even Roger at times, at the end of the day he is still Luffy, and if Gaban wants to put all of his hopes in him just because he resembles someone of legend, he is free to do so, but he is not allowed to take away Luffy's freedom to choose what he wants to do. Usopp also retorts that despite what Gaban thought earlier, Luffy is always serious, and no new form or status will ever change that. Nevertheless, he thanked Gaban for having saved his captain moments ago.
Back with Loki, he ends up chasing Imu into the air, where he prepares to hit him with a powerful attack he is confident Imu will not be able to dodge. Luffy gets up and sees what Loki is about to do and gets an idea, in which he jumps up onto Ragnir just as he prepares to blast Imu with lightning, telling Loki to not hold back. Loki complies and fires the lightning straight at Imu, which causes him to falter a bit, while Luffy flies straight at him at rapid speed. Imu performs Tohu wa-Bohu again to protect himself, but this time, the force from Loki combined with Luffy's power allows him to shatter the shield with Gomu Gomu no Dawn Thor Bullet and pierce Imu in the stomach, stretching it back and drawing blood from him.
