Chapter 1163 Summary
Short Summary:
Imu possessing Saturn attacks both Marines and pirates nearby. Rocks confronts Imu and attacks them while speaking of a certain "promise". Captain John is revealed to have the Jiki Jiki no Mi and tries to leave with all the treasure but Ganzui attacks him with the Bomu Bomu no Mi and also attacks Shiki who tried to get the treasure. While Linlin attempts to attack Kaidou, Garp, Roger, Rocks, Newgate, Kaidou and Linlin all attack Imu simultaneously with powerful Supreme King Haki infused attacks, only for Imu to simply regenerate back and recover. Dragon loses Shanks and Shanks climbs into an open chest filled with treasure. Imu tells Rocks that they will make him kill his own family and tranforms him into a demon using Domi Reversi.
Detailed Summary
The marines are shocked by Saturn's new appearance, especially the presence of Imu who manifested out of him. Imu attacks the marines using Saturn's spider legs before attacking nearby pirates, making them realize it is on nobody's side but its own. The marines are told to fall back and not engage the possessed Saturn, while Roger orders Gaban to help out the rest of the crew and seize some treasure, while he heads off in the direction of Saturn and Imu. Garp demands to know what just showed up from a nearby soldier, who is unable to give an explanation other than that Saturn just transformed. Garp realizes this is the first time he has ever seen one of the Five Elders and says his transformation befits a freak ruling over the maggots of Mary Geoise, to which the nearby marines try to remind him not to slander the World Nobles lest he wants to keep his head.
Rocks addresses Imu and asks if he came to kill him, but Imu calls Rocks "Davy Jones", with Rocks telling Imu he has never met the man and he is not him, but with that said, he feels a certain "promise" needs to be kept. Hearing this, Imu yells that that is precisely why they wish to rid the world of the Davy Family, and once they do, their world will finally be complete, only for Rocks to retort that the world is not theirs. Seeing Rocks attack Imu, the marines wonder if they should back Saturn up, but while the Rear Admiral present hesitates, Garp charges forward to provide backup, but his men question who exactly he is backing up.
Elsewhere, pirates continue to run off with world-class valuable treasure. Meanwhile, John prepares to split from the Rocks Pirates and starts gathering all the treasure and any people carrying weapons made of metal across the island, as he was the user of the Jiki Jiki no Mi at the time. This ends up dragging Dragon towards him just as he was about to get Shanks onto a marine ship and off the island. Ganzui sees this and attacks John for his treachery, flicking a grime at him that explodes, as he was the previous user of the Bomu Bomu no Mi. John is knocked out by Ganzui's attack as Shiki asks why he did that, to which Ganzui replied that John was never going to split this treasure with them, especially since each chest is worth at least a billion Belly. Hearing this, Shiki tries to collect it all for himself, only for Ganzui to attack him afterwards.
Garp charges to attack Imu despite the pleas of his men, but Garp says he only sees "vermin" and not a supreme ruler. Kaidou prepares to attack Imu in his dragon form, but Linlin shows up and attacks Kaidou for stealing the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu. All at once, Rocks, Garp, Roger, Newgate, and Kaidou unleash simultaneous attacks on Imu, with Linlin's attack missing Kaidou and hitting them as well. Despite the overwhelming assault, Imu easily regenerates themselves and unleashes a blast of Supreme King Haki that knocks out tons of people. Dragon then realizes that in the chaos, he lost baby Shanks, who climbed into an open treasure chest.
As Kaidou reminds Linlin he cannot spit out the fruit anymore, to which she tells him he owes her, and Garp and Roger argue over whose attack did the most damage, Imu says they can see Eris and Teach running through the forest. Imu declares they will not allow new members of the Davy Family to be unleashed onto the world as Rocks realizes who they are talking about and attacks them, demanding they do not do whatever they are thinking. However, Imu tells Rocks they will not be doing anything; he will be the one to kill them. Rocks calls Imu crazy as they stab him and use Domi Reversi on him to turn him into a demon, with orders to kill his wife and son.
