About Monkey D. Dragon
Monkey D. Dragon, also known as the "Rebellious Dragon", is the supreme commander and founder of the Revolutionary Army (originally the Freedom Fighters). A former Marine, his disgust with the organization's actions in the God Valley Incident, and its brutality in the Ohara Incident led to him forming the Revolutionary Army to oppose the World Government in its entirety. Having campaigned toward its downfall for over thirty years, he is labeled the "World's Worst Criminal".
Dragon is the father of Monkey D. Luffy and the son of Monkey D. Garp, and likewise was born and raised in the Goa Kingdom. He was also responsible for saving Sabo's life after a World Noble attack, eventually raising the boy into his second-in-command.
Dragon was first introduced in the Loguetown Arc, where he helped Luffy escape from Marine captain Smoker's clutches. Since then, he has periodically appeared as a key background character.
Dragon is a tall middle-aged man with long, shaggy black hair with a widow's peak and a distinct deep red (bright red in the manga) tattoo on the left side of his face which shaped like diamond patterns made out of line over-crossing each other from the corners with a smaller diamond shaped inside each box. He has a bit of stubble on his chin, and a prominent jawline with hooded eyes. He is usually dressed in a long, deep forest-green cloak (often wears like a cape), underneath which he wears the orange garb of a revolutionary, with usually dark coat over it, and dark pants.
